Once received, motions will be added to the agenda after being reviewed by the Steering Committee.
Submission Deadline:
Motions must be submitted by deadline (no later than midnight EST USA - the second Tuesday of each month) to be included on new business for the Group Conscience.
Review Process:
The steering committee will review all motions before they are brought to the group for discussion to make sure they don’t go against the traditions or affect AA as a whole. If you motion is found to go against the traditions or affect AA as a whole the steering committee will ask you to possibly reword your motion.
Discussion & Voting:
During the Group Conscience meeting, the motion will be discussed and then voted on.
Duration of Approved Motions:
Once voted on, a motion remains in effect for three months. If the motion does not pass a new motion with different wording would need to be proposed during that 3 month period to be voted on again.
If passed it cannot be changed during that period.
